[Hellhole Number 3] Character Sheet

Made up a character sheet for Hellhole Number 3 which is very much geared toward the rules for our game table.  It is definitely not a generic Savage Worlds sheet.  I've added a silhouette armor track, a field for mutations and cyberware, and areas to track wounds, fatigue, injuries, etc.  I've dispensed with listing every advance on the main page of a sheet -- I may include it if I do a second page.  I've also included a small box for ammo tracking within the notation for each weapon.

[Savage Fantasy] Character Sheet

None of us in my play group are particularly happy with the official SWD character sheet, so I decided to make one up myself.  Right now, I only have page one completed; page two is about half done, but I wanted page 1 available for this afternoon's game session.  It's a heavily stylized sheet designed for fantasy games and I tried to keep it as generic as possible.  I left skills blank so I wouldn't need to deal with house ruled skill additions or omissions, and I've taken ammo tracking off the sheet.  The latter was kind of a cool feature when playing Deadlands, but seems wasted for most other games.  The second page will have space for equipment, powers, character notes, and more.
The image is supposed to be a JPG at 8.5"x11" and 300 DPI, but Blogger is reducing the image size.  I'll try fixing it and possibly reposting it over on Google+.  I have a PDF available, but I opted not to post it since the file is 10x the size of the JPG.

[Future Perfect] Character Background Paths I

Inspired by the old Lifepath tables from several games by R Talsorian (most notably Cyberpunk 2020), I decided to add my own variant of Lifepath into Future Perfect. This table is Part One of the Character Background Paths, showing the general background of a character.

The table will allow a basic framework picture of a character's background to be built, indicating what region of space he calls home, whereabout he grew up, what his family did, what he wears, his general attitude and outlook, etc. In short, there is enough information to give a player some idea of who his character is and with a little more thinking on the matter, where he might be going.

Part Two will go into detailing specific events that were turning points in the character's life.

Anyway, here is a JPG image of Part 1, because blogspot wont let me post PDFs.

Science Fiction Setting: Future Perfect

I've been working on the setting for my upcoming Savage Sci-Fi game, outlining factions, major tensions, key players, and significant technologies. From ship designs (I now have about 50 of them), to faction reactions (along the lines of how faction write-ups in White Wolf's World of Darkness games have each faction's reaction to each other summarised in a snappy quote), Life Paths (ala Cyberpunk 2020), and a Character Sheet, I've been plugging away.

The project finally has a name: FUTURE PERFECT

I'm posting a .jpg picture of the working character sheet draft to hint at a few of the setting specific alterations made -- well, some are setting specific, one - IPs or Improvement Points - is included to suit my playgroup, who feels Savage Worlds characters advance in power a little too quickly and inorganically. Tracking IP, borrowed from the Interlock system, allows characters to earn experience in each skill they use. It only adds a little book keeping, but allows characters to improve in those abilities that they actually use. General Experience can be used to improve Attributes and purchase new Edges.

Most notable on the sheet is the inclusion of Faction Reputations. In Future Perfect, reputation is incredibly important, and with so many conflicting and competing factions, a character needs to track his general regard within each of them. Something as simple as Status, from Rippers just is not quite sufficient.

More and more material from Future Perfect is going to be posted on this blog; indeed, I am derailing it to make it more of a design diary for the time being.

Things that are in development include:
  • Faction Based Reputation System
  • Setting Specific Lifepath
  • Universal Vehicle Construction System
  • Alternative Experience System (IP Tracking)
  • Plot Point Adventures
  • New Edges, Hindrances, and Skills
  • Setting Specific Weapons and Gear
